The Laser Liposuction Procedure

At Midwest Dermatologic Laser & Vein Centre the laser liposuction procedure is an outpatient procedure done right here in our office. After your consultation with our practice and we have determined that you are an acceptable candidate for laser liposuction you will be scheduled for the procedure. Just before the procedure the fatty areas will be marked and local anesthetic will be used to numb these areas. The laser device will be released towards the skin. The laser will actually start to break up the fat cells. Fluid will release and will be drained away by your body’s lymphatics system.

Recovery From Laser Liposuction

Today, the laser liposuction recovery process is a lot easier and less invasive. What used to be a half-year recovery period is now down to a few days for the serious healing, a week till normal activity, and six weeks for full recovery. Our patients should remember that while laser liposuction is minimally-invasive, it is still a surgical procedure. Patients will experience muscle ache and stiffness around the treated areas is common for a few days.
