New Laser Technologies
ACCENT
Finally, there is a revolutionary new treatment for cellulite called Accent, which uses state-of-the-art technology to reduce both body fat and cellulite. The Accent laser uses small amounts of energy to stretch the fibrous bands in the skin, reducing the dimpling of cellulite. At the same time, fat cells are broken down and absorbed into the body while the metabolism of the affected area is increased. This results in a smoother, thinner, more youthful appearance.
ALMA SOPRANO DIODE LASER
Categorized as one of the fastest hair removal systems available, the Alma Soprano Diode Laser combines speed with elegance and a virtually pain free procedure. The revolutionary new module used heats a patient's dermis to a temperature that disrupts the growth of hair follicles without damaging the skin. Many patients compare the entire experience to a hot stone message. Safe for all skin types, the Alma Soprano Diode Laser is the new wave in hair removal technology.
Facial Cosmetic Surgery
JUVEDERM
Recently approved by the FDA, Juvederm is a next-generation injectable gel that instantly restores your skin’s volume and tone. Used to reduce wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines, Juvederm is the only filler available with a smooth consistency gel formulation. This smooth consistency gel is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add both volume and hydration. Because of this manufacturing technique, Juvederm is one of the most fluid dermal fillers available. Juvederm has also been approved for lip enhancement treatments, allowing people to create fuller, more youthful lips.
LEVULAN ACNE TREATMENT AND PHOTOREJUVENATION
Finally a procedure is available that shows positive results in the treatment of moderate acne in the form of a new FDA approved topical solution called Levulan. Levulan is applied directly to the acne and the areas of the skin where the acne is present. Left on the skin for 45-60 minutes, this solution makes the acne more sensitive to light, at which point the patient is exposed to Palomar's LUX V. The LUX V is specifically designed to treat acne by destroying acne-causing bacteria and shrinking overactive oil glads. A patient undergoes several gentle passes utilizing the LUX V laser followed by a Blue Light Treatment. The total treatment offers effective, safe, non-invasive and pain-free emission of blue light, which activates the acne healing Levulan solution.
Levulan can also be utilized for Photorejuvenation. Levulan is applied on the area needing photorejuvenation and left on for 45-60 minutes, again making the applied skin more sensitive to light. Once this time has passed the doctor uses Palomar's LUX G to activate the Levulan. The ultimate outcome from this procedure gives the patient smoother, softer, and more vibrant skin.
RESTYLANE
Restylane is a clear, biodegradable gel used for wrinkle removal and lip enhancement. Restylane is gentle, safe for the skin, and contains no animal ingredients. It can improve the signs of aging and create a younger appearance. Treatments are long-lasting, but not permanent, so if treatment is discontinued, your face will gradually return to its natural contours. Restylane is injected into the treatment area with a very fine needle and results are immediate, leaving no scars. For lip enhancement, Restylane injections create fuller, softer lips, as well as being effective in removing vertical lip lines. Results typically last up to 6 months for lip enhancements and as long as 12 for fine line and wrinkle removal. Restylane treatments take about 30 minutes and the amount of discomfort is minimized by using topical and local anesthesia.
Cellulite Treatment
MESOTHERAPY CELLULITE TREATMENT
It is a fact that 4 out of 5 people, including many thin people, have some degree of cellulite. While exercising, a healthy diet, and good genes are wonderful, they do not eliminate or prevent cellulite. The good news is that after having to endure years of lumps, waviness and unsightliness on the thighs and buttocks, there may be an answer for cellulite. Mesotherapy is a treatment that was originated by Dr. M. Pistor in France in the early 1950’s. His idea was to attempt to stimulate the mesoderm, hence Mesotherapy, or middle layer of the skin. The connective tissue of the body, primarily collagen, which is the responsibility for the maintenance of the skin, is derived from the mesoderm. Other tissue, such as fat or adipose tissue, is also derived from the mesoderm. The technique for Mesotherapy involves the injection of substances to stimulate the mesoderm to improve multiple medical and aesthetic conditions. The types of compounds injected into the mesoderm during Mesotherapy depend upon the disease process that is being treated. In Mesotherapy several compounds are injected into the cellulite area to increase blood flow and lymph drainage and break down fat. Mesotherapy treatments are typically given once per week. As improvement is seen, the treatments may be given less frequently, such as once every two weeks, once per month, or even once every six weeks. Most patients notice improvements in only a few sessions, but the average patient requires ten initial sessions given at one-week intervals. Patients have noticed an enhanced, smoother appearance in their thighs and often an improvement in the way their clothing fits. |
