PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION

If you live with unwanted hair, you’ve probably tried some of the typical solutions, such as shaving, waxing, and electrolysis.  If so, you’ve also found: that shaving is a daily nuisance, waxing is painful and only a short-term solution, electrolysis is effective but since it only treats one hair follicle at a time it is not practical for large areas.

Our Laser Pulsed Light System offers a lasting solution for unwanted hair.  The system concentrates pulses of light which loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for new hair growth.  It is fast!  In fact small areas, such as the underarms or upper lip, can be treated in 10 minutes or less.  Larger areas like the back or legs can be treated in a half hour.  In addition, the various cooling methods keep the light pulses mild and skin-safe, allowing for more comfortable treatments than alternatives. 

What body areas can be treated with the Laser Pulsed Light System?

Any area, except around the eyes.  The upper lip, face, neck, underarms, bikini line, legs, chest and back can all be treated.

What is the treatment like?

Dr. Kovak’s nursing staff will move the handpiece over your skin, pulsing it all the while.  Each pulse will send a beam of light through your skin.  A flashing ligh, an audible tone, and a mild sensation on the skin will tell you when the handpiece is being pulsed.

What should be expected after treatment?

• Immediately after treatment, you can expect a mild sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling.  This usually lasts 2-24 hours, and can be soothed with cold gel or ice packs.

• The treated hair will continue to appear for 7-30 days post-treatment.  This is not new hair growth, but the treated hairs being expelled from the skin.

• At any given time, some of your hair is not in a phase of active growth.  Therefore you will need more than one treatment to affect the growth of all your unwanted hair. 

• Typically, several treatments will be necessary to achieve permanent hair reduction.

BOTOX^® treatment helps control the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when topical medicines do not work well enough by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. BOTOX^® injections are expected to temporarily stop the production of excessive sweat in the treated areas only. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere.

Dear Dr Kovak,

Just wanted to take a moment to let you know what a wonderful job I felt you did with the Laser procedure completed on my face. The lines and scars are gone and I couldn’t  be happier with the results.  I’ve been wanting to do this for years, but never followed through. Your staff and follow up after the procedure was OUTSTANDING. It was so comforting to have Sandy call every few hours to see how I was doing and to answer any questions that came up. This past weekend (March 5, 2011) Dr. Kovak lectured to multiple doctors and their medical staff on the use of lasers specifically the Sciton brand.  Dr. Kovak is on the national faculty for Sciton Inc., which is a leading laser manufacturer.
